Thistle Day Highland Games

Thistle Day is back for 2024!

What: The fourth annual Thistle Day festival will once again feature an official highland games competition! Last year was a big success and we hope to top that this year. We look forward to welcoming the junior classes to the field, and we have a lot of other fun stuff in store.

When: Saturday, September 28th, 9:00AM until about 4:00PM, Rain or shine. Crowd participation events to follow.

Where: 10 Main St., Argyle, NY

Cost: $32 per athlete- No cost for spectators. No cost for judges/field volunteers, but please still fill out the form here: https://docs.google.com/forms/d/e/1FAIpQLSf7HCqTgVjmFAGZpBc__5mXAzOl_ErtXCwDu-53ujayySbpwQ/viewform?usp=sf_link Be sure to register by 9/5 to secure your T-shirt. Athlete check-in will start at 8:30 and we will aim for a 9:00 start. All competitors must be pre-registered and sign a waiver form to be on the throwing field. Juniors will need a guardian to sign for them. Kilts are required for competition. This event is beginner friendly but it is recommended that new throwers review the rules (Youtube, NASGA: http://nasgaweb.com/rules.asp) in advance or try to join an open practice.

New thrower? What to bring: - Dress for the weather, footwear should be sneakers, boots, or cleats - BYO food/snacks, water will be provided for participants, food vendors will arrive in the afternoon - Lawn chair - Some people like to bring a 10'x10' pop up tent or sun shade
